PSG Defeats Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

Trophy celebration scene

PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side struck two times late to take a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the spot-kick, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the final seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing penalty victory.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
