Pixar's Upcoming Movie Introduces James Cameron's Sci-Fi-Style Story with Beavers

Pixar has released the trailer for its upcoming animated film, The Hoppers Project, and it showcases a concept that is equally quirky and delightful.

Storyline Summary

Hoppers revolves around Mabel Tanaka (played by Piper Curda), a 19-year-old animal admirer who develops the ability to understand animals after using a form of Avatar-like-esque invention created by one of her university instructors.

According to one scientist, ‘The conventional ways to study animals just weren't working,” explains a scientists who created the brain-transfer system.

The Way The Invention Functions

Dubbed “Hoppers,” the gadget basically operates akin to the neural link system featured in the Avatar series films, with a single small twist: Instead of awakening as a giant navy-colored extraterrestrial, Mabel's consciousness is shifted into a mechanical creature body. In particular, a robotic beaver-form.

Adventure and Characters

Like Avatar protagonist Jake, the heroine soon ends up immersing herself with the residents of the animal kingdom, unintentionally causing an creature rebellion spearheaded by a regal butterfly (Meryl Streep) and the king of the beavers (Bobby Moynihan), who are resolved to “crush the human race.”

During a key moment, villain Mayor Jerry (Jon Hamm) is confined in his vehicle by two beaver characters and a lizard, who subsequently threaten him through his phone's text-to-speech capability.
